Just another day

Today just feels like Wednesday. Just the middle of the week kind of *blah* day. It doesn't help, I'm sure that I'm super tired and I have a migraine starting to try to form, and it's overcast and icky outside. Huh. I'll take that back. After a quick check back out the window, it's blue and puffy clouded outside. There are still competing pressure systems out there though - I have this on the authority of my sinuses.

Anyway, I did manage to figure out my technical issue that had confuzzled me, the team lead, and our system administrator. When I told them what I did to fix it they both were even more confused (as was I, honestly - the fix was one of those random, "Well, I've tried all the rational things, let's try this." type of solutions. Sometimes they're the best.) And I've solved the technical issue of my team member (see yesterday's post) - who shall forever be referred to as Pokey for the purposes of this blog. If you know me, you know of whom I speak, and you know that that is a particularly apt nickname. So now I'm back to finishing the part that he couldn't manage to program instead of debugging the stuff that he did manage to code up but couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.

And people are surprised by articles such as this that mention how we're graduating people from college who are barely literate. I promise you, this does not surprise me. If Pokey has a degree in computer science, ANYONE can get a degree in computer science.

So...I've been super productive already - can I go home? Please?

My goal for tonight once I do get home is simple: To watch at least 1 hour of the new season of 24 so that I can stop putting my fingers in my ears and screaming "lalalalalalala" at the top of my lungs when they want to talk about it. Yeah...this is one of the down sides of the DVR - you record the stuff because you don't have the time to watch it when it's on, but then you have to find/make the time to watch it later. So far we have all 7 hours of this season of 24 just sitting there...taunting us. It's sad.
