I speak english gud.
Props to Deb @ Accidental Verbosity for the fun quizzie. (I was saving this for tomorrow, but since everyone is posting it tonight, I'll jump on the bandwagon.)
I see you scored that 5% dixie too. What's up with that?
ReplyDeleteWhat about upper mesa? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've added my results to my quiz results blog :).
ReplyDeleteAnd what's up with the 0% Midwestern on everybody's results? I don't think there were any Midwestern specific questions. They didn't ask how to pronounce "roof" or "root," for example.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the Midwestern is the Pop vs. Coke vs. Soda (the correct answer, btw) question. Dunno though. Cause in Chicagoland, it's all about the Pop. (And I just would recite Hop on Pop for a bit to torment my local roommate.)
ReplyDeleteJim, I think the 5% Dixie comes from the fact that I do say y'all occasionally and admitted it. Being from PA though, don't you opt for you'ens or yooze?
Lyn, heh. No habla Upper Mesa-spanol. :)
Rach - I'll have to go see how a New Zealander scores - could be fun. :)
Apparently, Midwestern folks use the word 'pop' for carbinated beverages and 'sack' for what you bring you groceries back in.
ReplyDeleteMy results are on my blog:

"Pop" and "sack"? Hmm, That sounds about right, I guess. I do remember deliberately changing over to "soda" and "bag" at some point, which probably took away any Midwestern points I once had. ;-)

Sack? Seriously? I'll stick with bag, thankyouverymuch.
ReplyDeleteRodmonster - Yeah, I can see that about you - careful though, you're being poisoned by us yankees. :)
Yeah, "sack" puts me in the mind of Monty Python. I never use that anymore. I'm a reformed Midwesterner. ;-)

How did I get so much Dixie? I never say Y'all (or even Y'uns) and it's POP people. I could see that much Dixie if my mom's sister was Aint Lily (like Andy Griffith pronounced it.) The whole test seems a little whopperjawed.
Ijust love these quizes you put up!
