This makes me feel a little better. All of the states I checked include an overnight stay, not just a simple drive-through (though the overnight stay might've been on route to somewhere else, it is at least more than simply trekking through.) I may have been in some of the others not colored in, but I was too small to remember and thus don't feel they count. Props to Gwynne again for the fun little exercise.
create your own visited states map
Oh - should you decide to do your own, the HTML it generates will eat your blog - right click on the map instead and select Save Picture As. Then save it on your computer somewhere you'll remember where it is. Upload it to Blogger through the upload pictures thingy, choose SMALL as the size and you should be set. Non-Blogger folks, can't help you, but the principle should be the same if you know your software/host and how they handle pics.

Thanks for the handy tips! You really need to get out more (channeling Eric). ;-) How about a summer vacation to Mount Rushmore and Glacier National Park? Maybe a stop in the Twin Cities of MN? You could wipe out the rest of these states in no time!
ReplyDeleteI know, I know - I'm working on getting out more, promise! :) Hope the tips help.
ReplyDeleteOn further reflection I have been to Missouri, and it's not colored in, so I may have missed something else too. Just sayin.
