It's not just a haircolor, it's a state of mind

My sister and I have been discussing what to get my dad for his impending 64th birthday. We've tossed around ideas ranging from digital cameras to telescopes and everything imaginable in between. It's our annual dilemma of what to get the man who has everything. Most of our discussion has taken place on the phone. One of the things we're considering is sandstone art.

The following conversation just took place over IM (while she was sending me various potential links - such as this):

Sis: "Here dad, it's a rock. Happy birthday."
Me: Nonononono..."This reminded us of you, because dad, you ROCK." It's all about briefing well.
Sis: And since it's a sphere, it rolls too.
Me: Sphere. Got it. I have been thinking we were considering a SPEAR and have been having a hard time picturing a 6" spear.
Sis: Oh. My. Gosh. You're kidding.
Me: No.
Sis: Please tell me you're kidding.

Oh how I wish I had been kidding. I can see this is going to go along with the "How does she turn her head" incident in infamy.

  1. That sounds about right, as far as scale goes. :) I have been reprieved slightly as my sister uttered the word sphere again at dinner and Tim wondered if she said sphere or spear - so it's not me, it's an enunciation issue. :)

  3. LOL! There are just so many places we could go with the 6" spear, but I'll be good. ;-)
