I really don't know who I'm happier for - my friend Michelle, who I have known since the 9th grade, and who earlier last year (2006 - I very nearly wrote "this year" but that wouldn't make a ton of sense given that the year is what, five days old?) sold her very first romance novel has now also sold two more! It's so incredibly cool.
Or Christina and her family, who I only "know" from reading her blog, who after many trials and tribulations following the loss of their house, all of which were handled with astounding aplomb, are now essentially all rebuilt, redecorated, and back at home.
A very cool way to end the first week of a new year, don't'cha think?

Reading Christina's story was inspiring and scary at the same time. Yikes! That makes me think twice whenever I think lightening has hit something close by. I never realized the fire sometimes takes time to develop.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Michelle! I wish I could read a good historical romance novel (I also have a client who writes them and does an impressive amount of research). But I can never seem to get past page 2. 8-}
Gwynne, I hadn't ever really thought about a time lag either - I always just assumed you'd know, immediately.
ReplyDeleteI chuckled at your comment on historicals...I have to say, they're not my favorite. But these are in Ireland, so they're probably better than the average historical out there. :)
Thanks, Beth! I'm still stoked. :) Can't wait to see my first cover. So cool!
