Random Bits for Monday

My brain is addled, so I'm going with random bits today. I had planned on doing something more cohesive and interesting (of course that would require a topic, which I didn't have, but that's just a detail) and then I spent 50 minutes on hold. 50 minutes. Their ridiculous wait estimator said 10. I will wait for 10 minutes. 50 is just out of line, but after 10, I figured "any minute now" - then it got to be 30, at which point I was so steamed I was going to wait just to see how long they'd let it go. I was nice to the lady, I know it wasn't her fault, but I suggested that they might want to have their estimator looked at since it was off by a factor of FIVE. Then to fix the problem? Yeah, it took less than 2 minutes.

I do have one question - why do they make you say or type your phone number and account number into the automated system only to make you say it all over again when they finally get around to talking with you in person? Seems to me they could skip one of those steps.

Jen posted a link to this and I found it fascinating. I may have to undertake some nap experimentation now, because I seriously have trouble napping. Maybe the problem is that I nap too long and at the wrong time of day. I'm all for finding out! Cause I could go for a nap most days, if it meant I wouldn't feel drugged and groggy for the rest of the day. And grouchy. Did I mention grouchy? Yeah - most of the time I don't nap out of kindness to others.

Anyone else watching The Next Food Network Star? I'm enjoying it thus far. If I had to pick today whose show I would watch, I'd go with one of these: Aaron, Kelsey, or Jennifer. I'm not sure which of the three I'd prefer though. I want to like Lisa, but I can't get over her haircut. I just look at her and think of this:

  1. I haven't watched an episode of TNFNS yet, but my DVR is faithfully recording it every week.

    That lolcat is hilarious.

  4. Talking of waiting times...I know someone who was on hold for five hours to get her internet fixed and she still didn't get it fixed! I'd be changing provider!

By the way, this is Rach - Have to change my name so that when I log into my work blog, I'm not posting as myself haha!
