I, Too, Will Not Forget

I've toyed with various things to say as we mark the 7th anniversary of the terrorist attacks at the Pentagon, the Twin Towers, and averted (yet still tragic) flight that crashed in the Pennsylvania countryside. But I've not been able think of anything important that goes beyond the simple: we must not forget.

We must not forget the lives lost in the attacks.
We must not forget the threat that those attacks brought home in every sense of the word.
We must not forget that our actions in the middle east are directly related to neutralizing that threat, not just for ourselves but for the citizens of the world.
We must not forget that terrorism must be actively fought, lest we be forced to remember that it still lurks in the shadows, waiting and wanting to strike us again.
