The other day I spied No Reservations in a closeout bin for $7. Thinking that I had wasted more money on sillier things, I went ahead and snagged it. I watched it during nap time over the past couple days and it's delightful.
Now, it probably says something about a movie that you can watch it over the course of a few days and still get the gist of the plot. It's certainly not a thinking movie. But it's cute. And it's light. And it has a happy ending with just the right amount of sappy romance thrown in. In short, it's great for those rainy afternoons or sick days when you need something sappy and mentally restful that veers away from boring you senseless (others in this category include: Ever After, Notting Hill, French Kiss, and The American President.)
With that understanding, I highly recommend it as a bit of chick-flick therapy.

If you haven't already seen it, I recommend "Enchanted April." I believe it's just been released on DVD, or soon will be. A great classic is "Random Harvest," with Ronald Coleman and Greer Garson. Loooove it.
ReplyDeleteWe love Enchanted April around here. :) I'll have to check out Random Harvest as Greer Garson is a favorite of mine as well.
