Just got an email from a student in my new class (started yesterday). It was a reply to the "Welcome to class!" email that I sent out on Monday. The first line of my email reads:
"Welcome to XX-###! If you're getting this email it's because you're currently enrolled in this course which is scheduled to start on Wednesday (8/26/09)...."
Her email?
"Hi professor, I wasn't sure exactly what date class started...have I missed our first meeting?"
