Family friends invested in a large (like adults could use it) inflatable (eg powered by a blower) water slide/climbing type thing. They've been inviting us over to partake once or twice a week. Today was one of those days.
It was a good day for it, too, as I believe the technical term for the temperature right now is f'n hot. Of course, grownups did not partake, we sat in the shade of the pergola and wished for a breeze while we drank gallons of water, but still. The kids had a ball and that's really the most important thing.
(Coupled with the fact that they were having a ball outside, away from all screens. That's a double or triple bonus on days when all I want to do is lie on top of an AC vent under a fan.)
Of course now we're home and they're plugged back in bc I am exhausted and trying to make sure I get something done having lolled the day away while they played.
But hey. It's summer.
