I am so ready to go home. There's probably another hour left to go...and that's if we can leave "on time"...is there such a thing as "on time" when you're working toward a deadline of Friday COB for something that is just NOW running and that doesn't include any of the analysis? I didn't think so. I forsee a few long nights ahead of me.
While I'm sitting here waiting for my program to finish running, I am realizing exactly why some companies monitor and limit internet usage by their employees. Over the past hour I have:
1) Read the few blogs I check in at frequently
2) Caught up on slashdot (did you know that email addiction is raging through the US? No, really?)
3) Read my email
4) Checked out some of the great deals on this week's TravelZoo Top 20
5) Checked my email again...just in case
6) Browsed at Amazon
7) Researched Sirius Satellite Radio Receivers for Tim's anniversary gift (yeah, he reads this, yeah, he already knew that's what he was getting.)
8)Written my blog
All on company time.
Still, probably better than yesterday where I spent a few minutes making phone calls to my Mary Kay clients to see if they were running low and getting their reorders. Probably not a reasonable thing to build one business while working at another.
In the last hour, it has dropped 4 degrees. I notice this only because I notice it's getting dark outside (clouding over) so I check my little weatherbug and sure enough...temperature's falling. Fascinating, I know.
I give this blog a 10 in random and rambly. I should probably get back to work.
