Do You Have....The Wing?

Happy anniversary, sweetheart.

While my rehearsal dinner was...less than perfect. I will say that my wedding day was awesome. Oh, there were problems. But I had taken my own advice and found someone to handle them for me and I remained blissfully ignorant the majority of the day. I had to deal with only two problems myself, the rest I found out later.

Problem #1: I didn't make dad rent a tux. At my sister's wedding he had such a fit about not wanting to wear a tux that I didn't even bring it up. At 8 am on my wedding day, my sister says that dad feels left out that he's not in a tux. Devastated I am nearly hysterical through my entire shower/hair/makeup. Until dad asks what's wrong and says he's fine. Since he doesn't usually bother with the polite social lie, I figure it's ok. And really, his black suit with tuxedo shirt and bowtie is almost a tux. All it was missing was a cumberbund.

Problem #2: During the ceremony my youngest sister-in-law to be gets bored, starts looking around and falls off the platform. I hear the thud. I ignore it. So does just about everyone else. In all, it's pretty freaking hillarious to watch in the video. I imagine she feels a bit like a heel if she thinks about it.

The only other major problem ended up not being a problem in the end, but the best man apparantly got my ring stuck on his pinky. So in every prayer - and most of the wedding up to the ring exchange - you can see him desperately trying to get the ring off his finger. Again pretty funny. He says he was terrified that it would come off quickly and then fly out into the audience and bean someone on the head. I kinda wish it had. Ten years ago you could still win $10,000 for a home video.

The majority of my wedding is a blur, except for a few frozen in time moments that are the best...walking down the aisle with my dad, lighting the unity candle with Tim and then, while my uncle finished the song, whispering:
"Mawwiage is what bwings us togevver today."
and "Do you have....the wing?"
and trying not to giggle.

And best of all, knowing that I was walking back down the aisle with the man of my dreams. Who I love more today than I ever dreamed possible ten years ago.
