Dinner with the Liberal

Dinner tonight was interesting. NTMG and I had dinner with a the main client here and another guy who's here for the same training. Talk was mostly business related, but then NTMG steered it slightly toward some political things...and the liberal-ness began. The main client and the other guy mostly stayed out of it. I stayed out of it til it was just the two of us on the way back to the hotel. But boy I got an earful.
If it was all up to NTMG:
- Reporters would be able to say whatever they want without ever having to have responsibility and/or disclose a source even if national security was at risk through their irresponsible journalism.
- Tax payers should be thrilled to have the opportunity to rebuild New Orleans because it's more historically significant than anywhere else in the states.
- Sherman's march wherein houses were burned was all justified because it destroyed the homes of slave owners. (No recognition of the homes of non-slave owners or other potentially historically significant things that were wantonly destroyed.)
-And at the end of the day, what we really need is a bigger government and more taxes to pay for programs that 99% of people will never benefit from.

It's enough to make your dinner sit poorly in your belly. So now I will go find an antacid and find something to watch on tv until I feel better.
