I think that's the only plausible explanation. Last week I went to the shoe store on my way home from work (knowing that the best time to shop for shoes is at the end of the day) and, wonder of wonders, actually found some simple black pumps that didn't have enormously long clown points on the toes, nor were they so stumpy and rounded that it looked like my feet ended prematurely. They also had just the right amount of heel, good toe shape and - even more wonder of wonders - my size!
In other words, it was a Goldilocks day.
I came home, after careful trying on and walking about to ensure they were comfy and would serve me well, with two pairs. I was exceedingly happy. Made even happier by the end of season sale currently going on that allowed me to have the two pair for what one of them would have cost me. Life was good.
I wore one of the pairs the next day. They were great. I got compliments. And more important to me - they weren't bad for walking around in even with the nice heel on them.
Well, today I put on my other pair. How is it possible that they feel too small? They fit less than a week ago! They fit less than a week ago at the end of the day when feet are supposed to be bigger than in the mornings. Now I'm stuck hoping they stretch. And my little bubble of shoe happiness has burst. (Though I guess I'm glad one pair still is nice - of course, if aliens really did steal my feet, they won't fit anymore either.)
Very irritating.
