And boy do I have it bad. Seriously bad. I was overcome with spring fever this morning at 6:10 when I was letting the girls out to pee one more time before we left for work. It was beautiful - birds were chirping (we've been steadily going through more and more seed in the feeder, so I know the population is increasing, and while we tend to have rather ordinary birds - finches mostly, and the occasional Mr. Cardinal and his (less pretty) mate - I still enjoy sitting and watching them eat) and the puppies looked at me like I had grown an extra head when I told them it was time to come back inside so we could leave. You could almost hear them whine, "But we want to plaaaaaayyyyy." It was at that point that I nearly developed a serious vision problem. You know the one - when you just can't see yourself going to work.
So now I am sitting in my office resisting the urge to look behind me out the window at the bright, sunny sky (that has just the right number of puffy white clouds) and dream the remainder of the day away. I will definitely be cranking open the convertible this weekend and going for some pleasant zips to and fro (even if they end up at errand spots along the way, at least the drive will be pleasant.) And, maybe it's time to give all my rose buses a good long drink and their first supersized bonemeal treatment to get them all happy for the new growing season. And who knows, there may be more excuses to go outside - if nothing else I can always sit on the deck to read my homework.
You're right, it is such a beautiful day today! I noticed that the cherry blossoms trees are starting to burgeon. I walk past one every morning on the way to work and I can't help but admire the arrival of Spring. It's really exciting! I really hope to be outdoors all weekend long... Hope you have a delightful weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt was gorgeous today! Loved it. :) Hope the weekend will be the same. My hyacinths are poking out of the ground.
