The mystery has, we think, been solved! Tim didn't sleep at all last night (isn't that a song?) - like not at all. Not even a few minutes. This is the worst yet - he'd been averaging at least 2 - 4 hours without medical intervention, but by the time he got around to thinking of a sleeping pill (he's trying not to take them), it was too late and he'd've been groggy during his final exam (which he got a 90% on - yay Tim!! He's a smart one, that man I married.)
Anyway, after the exam he called up his work to tell them that he wasn't going to come in because of not sleeping and his coworker says (essentially) "Dude. It's your allergy medication."
And a lightbulb burst forth from the sky, spreading its blinding light across the land.
Two weeks ago, Tim started to be religious about taking his supplemental allergy meds (he gets shots, but those don't cut it in the spring). Two weeks ago, Tim started having sleeping issues. A few days ago, Tim mentioned how well he was doing even with all the pollen and thinking his new meds were working great.
So. He's off the allergy meds and we're hoping the detox will be short so that sleeping can resume. Of course, it's a bit of a "choose the devil you want" scenario, because now he'll have to deal with the pollen. But he can deal with that a mite better than he can deal with not sleeping.
Yay for coworkers!

I pray the mystery is solved and Tim gets his much needed rest!
ReplyDeleteDoh! Those allergy meds. I take mine in the morning and it works better than at night, in terms of not affecting sleep. Hope it works!
ReplyDeleteGee, I wish that worked for me. I'm exhausted....
ReplyDeleteThanks Gwynne & Michelle! Ms. Cornelius, welcome! I hope you can find a solution to your sleeping problems (it sounds like you're having some at least) - it's most definitely not fun!
