Great, let's give them all an excuse.

So this article now suggests that people who have road rage issues aren't suffering from anger control issues, but actually have "intermittent explosive disorder". A medical condition. So now, that guy who cut you off, flipped you the bird, and caused a major pileup, well see, it's not his fault - it's his medical condition. Will they qualify for special handicap stickers or plates for their cars? After all, it's a medical condition - so sorry if it killed you, not my fault, I have a medical condition.

Where does this trend stop and personal responsibility kick in again? Or does it? Are we doomed to become a civilization of people looking for someone or something else to blame?

Do I believe that there are people who have real, honest to goodness problems? Absolutely. Do I think it includes any kind of majority of "road rage" drivers? Not in the slightest. Certainly not the 16 million the article claims.

And why is it that the medical community is bound and determined to prove medical excuses for all kinds of behavioral problems but is unwilling to the point of obstinacy to even consider that there might be a few, miniscule number of people who are obese because of their genetics or some other underlying medical condition?

Gotta love "science".

Guess they have to have something for the lawyers to use for a defense?! Any port in a storm.

  3. It really is sad how our society has abdicated their personal responsibility. I read that 2 out of 3 people who hit another car will not leave their details and will instead run off.
