As of yesterday, my in-laws officially live with us until they find their own domicile. Someone start a kitchen timer, please!
That said, they arrived late last night, Tim didn't make me go to the airport so one of us could be well rested today, and thus I haven't seen them yet. But my sister-in-laws cigarrette paraphenalia has already been strewn all over the kitchen table, so they're here. Thankfully she's very good about staying outside, away from the house while she waits for cancer.
Oh - and to make it more fun, a neighbor stopped by while I was out trimming off dead rose heads "just to let me know" that they'd notified the HOA about the trailers so we could expect a letter soon and probably threats of legal action, blah blah blah. Gotta love the friendly notice - why they couldn't just come complain to us is beyond me. So, Tim now is looking for a new home for the trailers and Tim's dad is peeved. There are days I agree with him about HOAs, especially since I can walk two blocks and point out what are, in my mind, much more serious infactions, since they're permanent and ours is a temporary situation. But whatever, we'll move them - hopefully before any letter arrives so we can just thumb our noses at them.
Is it Friday yet?

Cigarettes and ferrets?? Neither of those can be good for their sinuses. How perfect that they arrived yesterday! Is there a kitchen timer big enough? And if I may ask, why is Tim looking for a new place to park the trailers, while Dad does what exactly?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it would just be easier for you and Tim to move elsewhere. ;-)
If I didn't love my house oh so much, believe me, I would consider it!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if there's a timer big enough, but when I got your comment in my gmail there were lots of ads for "HUGE TIMER SELECTIONS" -- so who knows, maybe there is! :)
Oh - while Dad does what? Well, b***h about it, mostly. And try to think of some way to get it taken care of without spending any money even though we found a really cheap ($55/month/trailer) storage lot for them.
ReplyDeleteI can see life isn't boring for you right now... Hopefully a nice place will be available for them soon - we can only but pray!
ReplyDeleteoh I feel for you. If my inlaws were under my roof more than a few hours at a time I think i'd croak.....
ReplyDeleteThat's funny about the "Huge Timer" ads.
ReplyDeleteIs Dad at least looking for a place to live? Is Dad reading your blog? ;-)
Praying...
No one on Tim's side of the family knows about the blog. My side only knows by accident (and my inability to keep secrets terribly well.) :)
ReplyDeleteSo far, honestly, they're being ok - bending over backwards to be accomodating and make sure they're not being a pain. Almost to the point that they're being a pain because they're so needful of reassurance that it's really not a problem. You know? Anyway, for now it's not bad...we'll see how it continues. Prayer appreciated. :)
If you feel you dont have a great ability to keep secrets, then perhaps you should assume that someday the Tim side will find out about the blog and you should be careful about what you post.
ReplyDeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad this is happening to you, and well you know, not me.
..didn't realize we both live in the same neck of woods. I saw your slug story and 395. classic!
Anonymous - I've said as much to them in person as I've posted, so if they find it and figure out it's me, then they find it and so be it. Might they be irritated? Sure. Might it also help them realize that they've hurt me by their clear dislike of me more times than I care to count? Well in all honesty, probably not, but a girl can dream.
ReplyDeleteMark - Thanks for commenting. :) You gotta love slugging - and all the stories inherent therein.
