The puppies have been shedding up a storm lately and while they get frequent brushings (usually at least 3 times a week), there always seems to be more hair to remove. Today I groomed out the following - and what you can't tell from the photo is that the pile is about 8 inches tall. They're looking much skinnier and cooler now.

Same thing happens when we brush shadow (He's a rough collie). I was thinking one day that we could brush him and start making the left over hair into a pillow (Easy get rich quick idea hehe).
ReplyDeleteIf your phone is there for scale (and not an optical illusion), that is one mighty big pile of hair! Or a very small nano-phone. ;-) I was at my Dad's this weekend and his shelty is shedding up a storm also, much more than our Aussies.
ReplyDeleteRach, my husband has done just that (every time we've shaved Smokey, his hair goes in a plastic bag, "to be spun into yarn and knitted into a sweater," by whom, I'm not sure yet, but my mom has a friend who did this with her chocolate colored poodle's hair). I think I better quit talking for awhile. 8-}
The phone is, indeed, there for scale. It's a huge pile of hair (thus why I deemed it picture worthy). I was going to make this a guess what it is contest, but figured it was too easy.
ReplyDeleteI have thought about saving it (it's so soft!) and seeing about having it spun so I could make a blanket or something but then I remember that technically Tim is allergic to dogs, so probably a dog-hair blanket is not a great gift idea for him. :)
