Book Review: Boo Humbug

This week I'm participating in a blog tour for Boo Humbug by Rene Gutteridge. In Boo Humbug, we join the residents of Skary, Indiana as they prepare to put on a unique twist on Dickens' Christmas Carol. Things aren't going well with the production, however, as some participants object to the creative license taken with the story and others are just there to get away from the stresses at home. Still, the show must go on - especially since the marketing campaign has produced buzz in all the neighboring counties. Except for one minor thing: they all think a completely different play is being produced.

In the end, this is a charming story that will make you laugh and leaves you with a wonderful ending that embodies the blessing and miracle of Christmas. And though this is the 4th book in the Boo series, it stands on its own very nicely (though it has made me add the first 3 to my "must read" list and I suspect the same will be the case for anyone else.)

You can get this at Amazon.

  1. Is this a childrens book or for tweens? Whats the audience level?

  2. It's for a general audience - I'd say high school up (though there's nothing offensive anywhere, so younger could read it too - just not sure that they'd be interested so much in the story.)
