NaNo is nearly over and I did not finish. Something about finding out we were getting a baby shortly that threw my life into a tailspin coupled with changing jobs and having 12 people at my house for Thanksgiving. (Yes, I'm making excuses.) I do plan to finish the thing - and I made a good start (and have even recently finally had some ideas of where I can take it), so it wasn't a loss really in my mind other than the missing the rather arbitrary goal of 50,000 words.
I should probably add that while I do plan to finish the thing, it's still not likely to ever go beyond just simply being finished because...well...I believe the term is "drivel". I'm not sure there's enough editing in the world (short of starting completely over and changing everything about it) that would actually turn it into something that I would let people read. But hey, I had fun playing with it, and that's what really matters, right?
Bring on December!

Hey, it was worth a shot! And you learned from it, so that's all that matters.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, when you guys get your little newborn son (thinking positively), don't plan on getting a lot done the first month. :) Babies are time-suckers, and it's worth every minute.
