Weekends seem to be getting busier and busier these days and I'm not really sure why. Well, I suspect it has to do with the kiddo, but Tim and I both remarked at one point this weekend that we would really just enjoy a day off - a day with no obligations whatsoever where we could just stay in our jammies and watch TV or read (or a little of both) in between taking care of The Boy. Maybe next weekend (this coming weekend is basically already booked, so it's out.)
Anyway, Friday night our friends had us over for supper (jambalaya and king cake). It was all delicious and a fun time was had by all. Then Saturday, Tim spent the majority of the day doing homework while I baby wrangled and tried to get some chores done (succeeded in getting one load of laundry completely taken care of...that may be it. Oh wait, I emptied the dishwasher, too. Babies are high maintenance.) In the evening we went to my sister's house for supper and my folks had come down too, so there was much baby doting. Sunday we made it to church (not Sunday school as we had intended, but...baby steps), then came home and took a short nap, Tim did more homework, and then his family came for dinner (another killer pot roast - how did I manage pot roast before I had a convection oven??) and we watched a teensy bit of the Stooper Bowl before they left and we promptly turned off the TV. And oh yes, more baby doting.
Last night we had our first instance of insane poop. It reached, and I am not joking, to his shoulder blades. If I had a squeegie, I would have been tempted to use it as part one of the baby cleaning process. Dis.Gus.Ting. Bleh. Nothing like dealing with that at 2 in the morning. Neither he nor I slept particularly well after that episode. Tim, thankfully, was able to snooze obliviously in our room throughout the whole ordeal. So hopefully it didn't wreck his Monday like I suspect mine has been wrecked thanks to the whole no-sleep thing.
Anyway. I'm looking forward to the relative sanity of this week and I think this weekend we're going to try to keep to a more typical schedule and see if that helps with the whole fighting sleep thing that is also starting to rear its ugly head around here.

Don't you love insane poop? Hoping you get some good sleep. I've been up lately too because H2 suddenly starts acting like Donkey Kong in his crib every night at 1 am. Darn kids. :)
ReplyDeleteGotta love the poop stories. Heh. How do they do it? Really??
ReplyDeleteGosh...Donkey Kong in the crib rivals insane poop, for sure, Slush!
ReplyDeleteGwynne, I have no idea how he did it, there just doesn't honestly seem like there's enough room in him to have generated that quantity of poo.
Insane poop - that's classic!
ReplyDeleteI used to call those "core-breach poopies," the kind that overwhelmed the containment field.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not a Star Trek nerd. I just needed something to divert my mind somewhat from what I was actually dealing with. Bleh.
Robbo - I may have to adopt that, seeing as how we *are* Star Trek nerds. :) That's quality - and very diverting!
ReplyDeleteI knew there was a good reason to stay single :P.
