And We're Walking...

I think the walking has clicked.

I went to lunch at Chick-Fil-A with my mother-in-law today. It was actually a rather pleasant lunch - we ran a strange gamut of conversation though - everything from how the kiddo prefers chicken nugget to french fry (silly boy...though CFA chicken nuggets are hands down the best) to why I could never be optimistic enough to be pre-trib. She was actually genuinely surprised that I wasn't - and even more surprised that I didn't at least belive in a mid-trib rapture. I love the idea of a pre-trib rapture, but it's something I consider the most amazingly, perhaps even naievly, optimistic sort of belief out there. And it sums up a lot of the difference between the two of us. How did we get off on that coversation? Well, it started by talking about the inaguration, of course. (Insert winking smiley face here.) In keeping with her optimism, she doesn't think that it's going to be that bad - or more I should say, she's hopeful that things won't be that bad. Whereas I look at this, coupled with the general decline of America in terms of culture and couple it with Israel and Hamas and Lebanon over the last few weeks and I really wonder where the "not that bad" is going to come from.

Anyway. After lunch I took a milkshake over to my friend at the hospital - which gave her a little break from bedside sitting for her 3 week old (he's not changed in status, though at least he's not getting worse) and while we chatted for a few minutes, the kiddo just up and started walking around. He's been taking 8 or 9 steps at a time before falling, but this was just rambling here and there in that slightly off-balance shuffle that new walkers have. It's adorable. Of course I didn't have the camera with me (cause really, who expects milestones to occur while visiting a friend in the hospital, for crying out loud?) So hopefully he'll have a repeat performance this afternoon after his nap and we can get a little video to email Tim up in the great frozen north.

My experiment earlier today didn't appear to do anything...so the feeds are still about 24 hours behind. I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done other than giving some annoyed glares to blogger. And really, that just makes me feel better, it doesn't actually fix the feed. Feel free to send annoyed glares of your own as well.

And with that, I hear the beginnings of nap waking, so I'll hit publish and see if I can get something productive done since I've so far managed to fritter away the majority of nap time today.

  1. All I saw was the test message and when I clicked through to your blog, I saw the rest. Huh. Definitely behind.

    Congrats on the walking!

  2. Hope you have that camera nearby next time! And keep frittering away naptime. What's a naptime for, if not for flittering? By the way, kudos, wonderful kiddo, for the milestone!
