I was going to put together a more cohesive post, but, well, I just bought Peggle and am itching to play so, random tidbits will have to do.
- I believe the potty training has been successfully achieved! We're two days going with no accidents. Woo! Night time is another story, but I know there's actually a physical component to that so I have no problem waiting for that to develop. We'll take it as it comes.
- On the other hand, he seems terrified to poo in the potty. I'm told that this too shall, ahem, pass. But for now it's just heartbreaking to see him tell me that he has to go potty with that terrified look that means it's not a simple tinkle. Hopefully we can figure out a way to make it more enjoyable - thus far his Thomas the Tank Engine books are helping. So...we'll see what happens.
- I was thisclose to just officially quitting my PhD two days ago. Now there seems to be a glimmer of hope. Please pray that pans out...I can't bring myself to quit but at the same time, at some point you probably really do have to admit that enough is enough and move on.
- And that is all for now, Peggle calls.
Mine still wears a diaper at night. They'll get through it.
ReplyDeleteWith #2, I bought a padded seat from Toys R Us that you fit on top of the regular toilet. It's cushy and there's no fear of him falling in, and I let him sit with his books, and he's happy.
Sounds like J is doing GREAT!! I'll bet you don't miss changing him...
The padded seats are all we're using - we had a frog potty that he liked to sit on before bath time, but when we started in earnest he only wanted his Elmo seat. So, Elmo seat it is! I don't mind not having to clean the frog potty. :) Plus he likes to flush.
ReplyDeleteNope, don't miss diapers at all!
