We finally pulled the trigger and fired our realtor, having done the math to see that paying his termination fee and possibly selling with someone who actually knows what the heck they're doing is going to save us money vice waiting out his contract term and all the loan payments etc that start to kick in while we sit with a house on the market that no one is actually going to see.
I am pleased with the new realtor (my sister's recommendation). He's been so responsive. And there's a customer portal! With actual information in it like plans! So I can go look and see if I can find information myself rather than having to text and hope.
It's a whole new world.
Fingers crossed/prayers/vibes/whatever that we sell quickly when we go back on the market. Because having a house for sale is for the birds.
Funny story: he walked into the house, looked around and said, "How could anyone not sell this?"
That's what I wanted to hear.
So. Cautiously optimistic. (Especially as I get a competent and knowledgeable vibe from this guy vs the blustery "I'm everyone's best friend, yeah OF COURSE I can do that, wink wink" vibe the other guy gave off.)
Anyway.
We have gotten calls from a few realtors who noticed that our house is off the market and wondering if we'd be looking for someone new. Ha. Apparently other people are pretty confident they can sell the house. Honestly? I wish there was a way to say "Hey, first person to sell the house wins" and avoid the whole proprietary contract thing. But whatever.
Hoping for a contract before August hits. Maybe overly optimistic there when we're currently off the market. But who knows.
So yeah. Life's still a tad stressful. And the Sleepy Pup is sick, which is just adding to my issues right now. $400 and a couple hours at the vet and we have meds and instructions to watch him carefully and bring him back on Monday. Sigh.
