Title sums it up pretty well, but I've never left alone a chance to elaborate.
We're pretty well moved in. We spent the weekend tackling the basement entertainment areas, which were really the last men standing, as it were. There are some boxes out in the shed that need to be brought in and gone through, but otherwise we're pretty well settled.
I got all my books shelved -- well. I say all, but I know for a fact I'm missing three books. Possible a couple more. They'll turn up, I'm sure. As much as I appreciate the packers packing us (because heaven knows I didn't fancy doing it myself), they were a bit...odd in their choices of what could go together in a box.
Flip side, they actually ended up refunding us about $500 from their estimate, so maybe those odd packing choices resulted in using fewer boxes? No idea. But I can go with it.
I like the new house.
We had a buck dart across the little lawn in the back of the house where we look out from the sun room / breakfast area this morning.
Neighbors in a Faceplant group for the area posted pictures of a black bear cub.
I'm more excited about the buck than the bear, as you'd imagine.
Hubby is pretty certain he saw a bald eagle flying overhead.
And when I take my coffee out on the deck in the morning, I hear the usual birdy suspects along with some cheeps and trills I don't know yet, so I'm excited to get to identifying them. (Provided we don't attract bears with the bird feeders. Because yeah.)
All in all, though, now that the move is over and done, I am glad we made it. Still need the old house to sell, so would appreciate prayers for that.
Dad's already been over a few times to talk about how we're going to add on his little suite. It feels as though he's looking forward to it, which is good. I had been dreading convincing him that living alone wasn't the best plan much longer, but that appears to be unnecessary. I guess we'll see what we see as things progress.
