This has felt like the week that would never end for some reason. I suspect that it's because it's just about the only week so far this year that I've actually been at work for five full days (vs. having a holiday or taking off early one or two days, etc.) Maybe I'll get back in the swing of things soon thought.
However, today is Groundhog Day! I'm very excited about this as I hope to be able to watch the movie of the same name (such a classic) and munch on yummy, grilled Italian sausages for dinner (you know, ground hog. My mom always served ground hog on Groundhog Day as a kid and it was just such fun. Of course, we thought for the longest time that it was really groundhog and not pork, but that honestly just made it more fun.)
This is also the first Friday since September where I have no homework looming. Yes, you read that right! No. Homework. Everything is turned in. And while the semester isn't "officially" over until next week, I'm finished. Can I get a hallelujah?
Of course, this does mean that the mammoth to-do list building in my daytimer must now be tackled. Though some of those items are actually fun things that I stuck on there so I didn't forget to do things for myself on my little break. I'm hoping to get two or three of them knocked off this weekend. I must finish the baby quilt for Tim's cousin's baby and get that in the mail. I'm annoyed with myself that I let it slide and didn' t have it finished before he was born. Beyond that I'm working on something fun for my friend Michelle to help announce the publication of her first book (I'm so jazzed about that - can't wait to read it!) and then there's the ubiquitous adoption profile. I've done the fun part (i.e. all the writing about us) and now it's time for some scrapbooking-type activities. And I'm slowly beginning to realize that I don't know if I have any recent photos of myself. (I'm all about that being the case, but I'm guessing birth parents are going to want to see both of us, not just the cute one.)
Beyond that - I'm hopeful that there will be mammoth quantities of sleeping.
Happy Friday, all!

Hallelujah!
ReplyDeleteMammoth quantities of sleeping, hmmm.
You must tell me how that feels. I miss mammoth quantities of sleeping.
Yes, well, I don't have a newborn. :) There are definitely tradeoffs to parenthood.
ReplyDeleteHOW did I miss Groundhog day?! And ground hog for dinner. Very clever. Hee. :-)
ReplyDeleteCouldn't you just use your M&M photos for the scrapbooking project? Or what about your baby pictures? Seriously, the thought that they require a photo of the prospective adoptive parents is a little (okay, more than a little) disturbing to me. Whatever. :-\
I like the idea of using the M&M photos...somehow I don't think it'd fly. But really - what a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteGround hog was deeee-licious. Didn't get to see the film, but I'll work it in this weekend most likely.
Did you sleep well, after all?
ReplyDeleteHappy quilting! :) Enjoy. And hope the adoption profile goes well.
ReplyDeleteI'm still listening to soundtracks, trying to get a handle on those. I swear, it's like the perfect music is there...it's just trying to find it!
Have a nice weekend!
My inner snarkophile would have me clothed in a blazer and ascot with a pipe clutched in my teeth in the headshot, and wearing hipwaders or lederhosen in the full body shot.
ReplyDeleteAnd the only kid they'd let me adopt would probably be named "Damien," so you're probably better off playing it straight.
Can't imagine how you guys do the school AND work thing at the same time. I tried for one semester and became everlastingly content with my B.S., and all that implies.
Janie, there was much sleeping. Not much else in the way of productivity, but much sleeping. It was good.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, see above on the productivity. Um. Maybe I can finish the quilt tonight :)
Bret, heh. Yeah the school/work thing only works when you're both doing it (hubby and wife) so that you can have study dates. When one's not in school and the other is it gets tricky. Not that I'm running around this week saying "neener neener" or anything. Nope. Not me. :)
