I certainly never feel like it saves me anything. I know it's supposed to promote energy conservation or some such silliness...but really, all it ever seems to do is make us miss church. Doesn't seem to matter how many times we are reminded the week before, unless someone happens to remind us on Saturday night - we're sunk.
This year, we were both up and attending to the Sleepy Baby and a glance at the clock said it was 7:10. So, Tim, being a wonderful husband, suggested I go back to bed and he'd wake me up at 8:30, which would give us plenty of time to get ready for not only church but Sunday school as well. So I happily slipped back into sleep without a second thought.
Except, of course, it was 8:10, not 7:10.
By the time Tim realized what the real time was, it was really too late to do anything about it and, according to him, I was so asleep he felt bad about even considering waking me. And so it was that DST struck again.
But hey, I'm nice and rested now.

oooh. simultaneously posting about the same topic. spooky!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand it either. It's not like we're creating something out of nothing. I happened to be up past midnight when I noticed my computer said it was a lot later than I thought it was. So, for once, I didn't miss church because of DST.
ReplyDeleteI contemplated skipping, but then it was 6:00 a.m. (7:00 a.m.) when the kids woke me, so there wasn't much hope there. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you got some sleep!
