Today was a very fun day. Sleepy baby and I headed up to the mall area and met Michelle and her youngest for lunch at Bertucci's. It's always so fun to chat with her - she's one of those old friends (even though we're not old!) with whom you always seem to be able to just pick up where you left off. And so we did. We chatted about all manner of things from motherhood to the wonderful world of editors and agents to a mutual favorite subject: Ireland. We both drooled momentarily over the currently cheap airfare and sighed that it wasn't a real possibility to just pack up and go.
After lunch, we hopped across the street to Borders for coffee. And, because I needed my parking validated, I bought a mystery I've been meaning to get for a while. (That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.) (Hey, I have a gift card.) (Oh, and I got an educator's discount. w00t!)
Then, on my way home, I popped by my parent's house to see daddy for a bit and he tickled the Sleepy baby and I got to hear more giggles (somehow he giggles better for granddaddy than for anyone). I had planned to swing by mom's work, but it was getting to be traffic time, so I will do that another day.
Still, I enjoyed a day as a lady who lunches. Even if the girl who sat us was frustrated with our strollers and the people they sat near us as we were finishing up gave us the evil eye when the babies squeaked. And I now have a complete set of autographed Irish Warrior books and a little on the inside scoop on the next book and the one after that. Yay!

Bertucci's. Yay!
ReplyDeleteWait, you mean the parking would have been free if moron here had remembered to get the thing validated??
ReplyDelete::Michelle bangs head at the lost $7::
Sheesh.
It was fun!!
Jim - yeah, I haven't been there in a while, but yummy!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, Um...no? :) Actually, I still had to pay $3, because we were there more than 2 hours, but the first 2 hours would've been free. Sorry...I should've mentioned it to you but I thought you'd seen the signs in the garage.
Moron = Me. :)
ReplyDeleteMust learn to actually pay more attention to the signs...
Sounds like a good day!
