This afternoon I headed out to run some errands after feeding Josh lunch. I hadn't had any myself, having been contemplating the idea of $0.99 chicken nuggets from Wendys for a little while. So I made that my first stop, various change scrounged out of my wallet to the tune of about $1.10.
Scanning the menu board I came to the startling realization that, much like ice cream manufacturers with their teeny tiny boxes for the same price as a half gallon used to be, Wendys is using gas prices to mess with us. There is now no longer a $0.99 menu...there's the "Extra Value Menu" where every item is $1.19 or more.
I'm sorry...$1.19 for 5 chicken nuggets is just not cool.
I was able to make up the difference in pennies, so I paid it. And they were yummy. But I still feel ripped off.

What I hate is the ice cream rip-off. It used to be that you could buy a half gallon of ice cream for $4 or $5 (still too pricey). Now, they're selling the ice cream in 1.5 quart boxes. Yeah, price mark-up!!
