If It Was Easy, We'd All Have One

So. I really am going to insist on being called Doctor when this is all said and done. Or "Mama, PhD" or something. Because, honestly, this is getting ridiculous.

The IRB at the school where I teach is even sillier than the one I'm attending. They aren't going to take it on anyone's word that my resources are good enough, they want to read and approve my proposal. The one my school has already approved. So yeah. Why not.

In the mean time, I'm trying to get an instance of Moodle set up so that I can put my additional instruction online so it can be used. You'd think I was trying to visit the Queen of England in her bedroom. I found one of the Moodle partners, looked over their services, paid my money, did what they said to do and they can't bother to pull their head out of their rear for long enough to actually activate my account. So. Goodbye CRTeachers.com and hello a hosting company that says they offer pre-installed Moodle hosting options. Provided I can get my money back from CRTeachers. Cause that's $150 I am not letting go of. Idiots.

And of course, in order for the one IRB to approve my study, the other IRB has to approve it. But of course, they want the first to have approved it before they will. I think I've finally gotten one of them to realize the circular nature of that and have it fixed. We'll see. Though I still need that Moodle install to put my materials up so that the IRB can look at them and bless them - even though they've already been blessed by the school who would be issuing my degree if I was actually ever going to be allowed to finish it.

Who would've thought that getting permission to proceed would be harder than the coursework or the writing or the research? Not me.

I just wish "Mama, ABD" had the same ring.
