Ok seriously. I sent the paperwork via priority mail on Saturday. So sure, it didn't get there til Monday. It's now Thursday and I have yet to hear that he either 1) got it or 2) got it and signed it or 3) (my preferred response) got it, signed it, sent it off to the person who needs it. Even better would be an email from the person who needs it saying that she got it from him. How hard is this?
Obviously we are running into one of those lovely situations where sense of urgency on my part has nothing to do with motivation to, I don't know, actually do something, on anyone else's part. But the longer this ticks on, the more I run into the distinct possibility that data collection won't actually start until January. Classes (and therefore data collection) run 10 weeks. If we're optimistic and say that I can use classes that start the first week of January, then 10 weeks has data collection ending somewhere between March 8th and 12th. My semester is over May 5th. This gives me basically 7 weeks to write my final report, get it approved, and defend it so that I can finally be done with this ridiculous degree.
Is anyone else feeling just the slightest tingles of panic on their spine? Because I'm really having to work not to hyperventilate when I think about it.
Granted, starting with students next week or the week after only buys me an extra three or four weeks but that just seems like a good bit of time that it would be nice to have as a cushion. Especially since I'm going to have to deal with statistics in that whole report writing thing and, well, they're not my strong suit.
I will now return to my deep breathing exercises. As you were.
