- They're saying we're getting between zero and six bazillion inches of snow this weekend. The kids are elated. I'm reserving judgment, because le sigh. Snow. If it's good snow, then I'm all in. If it's just icy ickiness, then blergh.
- The puppy is settling in well. He seems to have grasped the joy of potty outside and using his doggie door to do so.
- We need to fix up the lighting on the deck stairs for him though, because long ago other puppies chewed through all the wiring and we never really bothered to do anything about it thereafter. But now, if you want him to go out at night, you have to go out with him and shine a light so he can see what he's doing.
- Black puppy on dark wood floor is often hard to see. Honestly, sometimes he sticks so close to me I nearly step on him. I'm learning to look around before moving.
- Hubby and eldest are, maybe, at eldest's first lock in with his Trail Life troop. I say maybe as I got a text saying none of kid's friends are there, so I don't know that he'll want to stay. I don't care either way and don't really blame him if he comes home if he's got no one to hang with.
- I've been watching Instant Hotel on Netflix. It's amusing and full of lovely Australian scenery and accents. But golly, the personalities are so over the top. I don't watch a lot of reality TV, so I don't know if it's normal, but it's startlingly awful and it makes me wonder just what the world is really coming to.
- I'm back on the low carb wagon after taking some of the holidays off. I'm mostly happy with that and feeling fine, but I don't know that I'll ever get to the point that I don't miss them. Because carbs are yummy and full of happiness.
- My sister is getting ready to move to a condo in the western suburbs rather than down here nearby. In all, I think it's going to be a marvelous thing for her, but I can't say I won't miss knowing she's only a few minutes away. (That said, we didn't just pop over all the time or anything, so really I don't think it's going to be negative to our relationship. And lots and lots of pros for her.)
We used to have the opposite with our Scottie when I was a kid. He'd scurry off into the darkness and wouldn't come back in until you caught him in the flashlight beam. We'd call him in using German accents a la "The Great Escape". Yes, we were weird.
ReplyDeleteHeh. That sounds fun. And weird is good.
