So last night, when I was at Awana, hubs texts me: Hey, have you noticed any leaks near the manhole cover in the side yard?
Well, no, no I haven't. I haven't actually BEEN in the side yard in...a while. It's just not in the realm of where my wanderings about take me.
Turns out, a neighbor stopped by to ask if we'd noticed. Hubby went to look, said huh, and asked me, then called the water company.
They'd installed a new meter not long ago - and we've had issues off and on since then. So we figured it might have something to do with said meter.
Long story short, they were scheduled to come out today to take a gander and see if it was our problem or theirs.
They just left (it's about 3) and turned the water back on, having arrived around 9 to turn it off and poke about. Something on the throat of something else (these are all highly technical terms I'll have you know) got stripped. It's their problem, but they also aren't able to fix it. So they'll be back to try again tomorrow.
Would I like them to turn the water back on??
Does anyone say no to that? We are big fans of drinking water, flushing toilets, and doing things like laundry around here.
Insert eyeroll.
Regardless, for now we have water, the thingamabob is still leaking, and the boys are no longer dragging themselves across teh floor dramatically moaning about dying of thirst. (Note: If you've ever said boys are less dramatic than girls, you are wrong. Full stop.) (Second Note: Tonight I will fill up all the water bottles so tomorrow when we're without water we don't get thirsty.)
It's never dull around here, I'll give you that.
