Over on the Faceplant, I get tons of ads for Goldbelly. This is a food delivery service (mail order) for all the fancy people places in NYC and the like. I'm not sure why they target me, but I do like food, so I'll admit to eyeballing the ads as they scroll across my eyeline.
One I get constantly is for the Piecaken.
It's exactly what it sounds like. Pie on the bottom. Then cheesecake. Then, in the Valentine's Day edition, red velvet cake. All enshrouded in buttercream and shipped to your door with dry ice to keep it happy.
I'll admit I looked at the Valentine's Day Piecaken and thought immediately of hubby because it was kitchy and also lots of sweet. So I ordered one.
It came Friday.
We let it thaw overnight in the fridge and...I guess the saying is, "the sadder, but wiser girl for me."
It was not amazing. It basically tastes of sugar. You really could replicate the experience by strapping a 5 pound bag of Domino on like a horse with its mash and going to town.
So, if there's a sucker born every minute, last week, that sucker was me.
