Hubs leaves Sunday for the islands. The boys and I remain here.
There was marginal hope (ha) that the trip would get cancelled because of the impending annual government shutdown (wherein congress holds people hostage as both sides point the finger at the other side and send email out saying how reasonable they're being, no really, it's the other guys who won't compromise.) And the rest of us just wonder, "How many zeroes are in trillion again?"
Alas, it appears that the govie that needs to attend the trip is essential personnel, so he won't be shut down with the shut down, so the trip is on.
Which, given how much they spent on airfare and cars and hotels that was only semi refundable, seems like a better use of the government's "budget" than many others.
Anyway, school will continue on as usual while he's gone.
I'll try to drag eldest out to drive a little more. Got him in the car today. He hates it still.
Part of me feels bad about forcing the issue. But it's a really small part that's easy to squash.
Hubs continues to say, "Let's book a cruise!"
And I continue to think through just how horribly that could go and...yeah. Anxiety is fun, yo.
