It's season finale time, which is probably a good thing in the Sleepy household as it means we may actually have a chance to catch up on things - starting with the 3 episodes of Battlestar Gallactica that are still sitting at the bottom of the queue.
I did my part yesterday to clean up a few little items and the following comments may be spoilerish if you, like I, live under a rock and watch recorded TV multiple days after it aired.
NCIS - Part 1 of this was great, part 2, not so much. I will say though, if Gibbs is honestly not coming back then neither will I be. I can't fathom a worse show than something involving a team headed up by Tony. Bleh. Honestly, other than Abby, none of the other characters work without Gibbs. I'm guessing that Zeva will collect on the debt and make him come back. Overall though, not a cliffhanger that's going to leave me pining for NCIS over the summer.
CSI (Las Vegas style) - I'm glad Brass is ok. I know I said I didn't care earlier, but Jen has shown me the error of my ways and I think it's true that without his sarcastic wit, the show would be lacking somewhat. I thought they could've done more with the whole daughter thing - it's like they brought her out, tried to stir up angst, got bored, and dropped it. Is anyone else celebrating that Nick has had his normal haircut now for a few weeks? Hopefully he'll remember to get it cut over the break so we don't have a relapse of the great hair mistake next season. Grissom and Sara finally. Too bad it couldn't happen before she was as annoying as she is now - I was actually kind of hoping he and Lady Heather had worked out their differences. Oh well. Pining for CSI over the summer? Not so much.
CSI: NY - The end felt like they had to tie it up quickly because they were running out of time. Sure, it's always a neat little box with a bow at the end, but this was almost too much. I do hope that the detective (I always forget his name) is ok, I like him. Interesting to see if they are really going to develop the Danny/Montana plotline. (I know I'm a minority, but I think he's cute. Actually, all the guys on CSI: NY win my vote for quite cute - even the new, slightly odd, ME.) Pining for CSI: NY? Maybe a little, if only for the cute quotient.
Numb3rs - This just felt like a normal episode to me. Frankly, that was fine. Given how anticlimatic many of the other season enders have been, I'm ok with a nice little episode. Pining for Numb3rs? Not sure. Jury's still out on whether I'll even bother watching this next season to be truthful. I'm getting tired of the "too geeky for love" sentiment underlying each episode - I mean really, smart people aren't all the stereotype.
I watched a little live TV yesterday as well (Horror!) and saw that the Dead Zone will start a new season in June. Yay! That, I can honestly say, I have been waiting for all year. It was nice that they did a Christmas episode so we could get a mid-year fix.
And that's it for my second uninspired post of the day. Next up: Observations from watching paint dry.

You guys watch The 4400? Season 3 starts in June.
ReplyDeleteThat's one we never got into. Not sure why, I understand it's pretty good. Maybe we'll give it a whirl (though of course we'll be coming in a few seasons behind - how much of an issue would that be?)
ReplyDeleteCould be a huge issue. The first season is on DVD. I'm not sure about the second one; however, USA is planning to run the whole second season as a marathon before season 3 starts.
ReplyDeleteEric - indeed. :) I'm sure it'll be in grand Jethro style though.
ReplyDeleteJen - Hm. I'll have to see if Tim's interested in the time investment then - we just joined the 24 madness last season (season 4) and have yet to actually see season 3, though we've caught up on 1 and 2, so I'm not sure if we have room for another show where we're super behind. Is it really that good?
