So apparently the democrats (and a few republicans appear to be on board as well) are trying to stifle free speech when exercised by folks with whom they don't agree. I got an email about this and was ready to discount it (the email is from a place that bombards me with email so that I'm tempted to unsubscribe just about every time I get something from them, which is to say every day) - but figured it was worth a little research from cooler heads to see if it was real.
It is.
S. 1 is a "Lobbying Reform Bill" with some rather onerous red tape for groups built in, seemingly designed to stop grassroots movements (of any political nature). Oh, and some loopholes built in for unions, big businesses, and so forth.
Take some time to do some research, and then act. Freedom of speech is one of the things that sets America apart from many other countries and it needs to be protected. And while yes, there are some lobbying trends that need to be stopped, it can be done without penalizing those who are simply exercising their citizenship, through legal means and methods, on issues they deem important.

GW has been trying to throw out every one our bill of rights since he took office. I will be glad when this evil dictator is out! God will be less busy checking people in too.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if I agree with Dobson on too much. I put him in with the Pat Robertson camp-who claims he is a prophet and that american is gonna be attacked this year sometime. God help us all!
