We're home. I'm very much looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. I'm not sure why it is that I have so much trouble sleeping when I'm away from home, but I do. The puppies seem to have enjoyed their stay with the grandparents (we refer to my parent's house as puppy Disney, where the treats never end, so it's not like it's a hardship for them).
Highlights from the trip include pork medallions in Camembert sauce that we had last night (I have the recipe and will share if folks are interested...it was simply divine) that Tim's aunt made, entirely too much information about Tim's uncle's intestinal problems (he's only 60, but the conversation was like one you might have with a 90 year old), playing with two of the 5 great-grandchildren (one is 2, the other is six months; both are simply precious), seeing penguins at the Tampa aquarium, finding out way too much about shark reproduction from Tim's cousin who is an avid diver and shark affcionado (I think that's spelled wrong, I'm too tired to look, mea culpa), and driving through alligator alley the 2nd time and only then realizing that the reason for the name is that it crosses through the everglades. Duh.
I'm a little behind with school work, but I'm off work-work tomorrow, so can hopefully catch up. To offset that, however, I've already done the laundry from our trip - that has to count for something, right?
More posts of a (hopefully) more interesting nature to come. I still have 2 more books that I'll review. But those'll have to wait until my eyes aren't blurry.
It's good to be home.

Glad you're back! Hope you got some nice weather in there, amid the earlier rain.
ReplyDeleteWe did get some good weather - in fact, it was a lovely, steamy Flordia trip after the first 3 days. :) Made me almost wish for rain again. ;)
