Weekend, etc.

What a lovely, if full, weekend. Tim and I spent Saturday morning doing homework. Then we were off to a lovely lunch with Jen and Beau. I got to snuggle Jesse (who is just as adorable in person as in the fun photos Jen posts) and he, true to my luck with babies of all sorts and sizes, managed to spit up on me just at the end. But, such goes life and jeans wash. He's still a sweetie.

Saturday afternoon (just shortly after we got home), my family came over and we headed out to dinner with thoughts of using a gift card I just received. But, alas, the wait was in the 45 minute range so we opted, instead, for Chipotle. I was actually surprised how busy Chipotle was! We did get a table though and had a fun dinner. Then we headed back to our house and I made strawberry shortcake for some dessert. (The strawberries in our Safeway have been incredible. And cheap! And while I know you could grow them, I don't think I would be able to manage it, given that I encourage birds to come to our house as well. Regardless, we've been in strawberry heaven lately.) Then all of us save mom played some Guild Wars while mom watched Elizabeth I (which I mistakenly recorded thinking it was The Queen. Easy mistake given that it was Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth. Just got the century wrong. Mom's comment on the roughly half of the movie she saw: "It's very bloody." I'm thinking she wasn't enchanted.)

Sunday after church we went to lunch at Tim's folks house, only to find that his other sister is now in town and back at home for an indefinite stay. So it was fun to see her and her being home can only bring good things for his other sister. Or so we suppose. (We're hoping she decides to stay, get a job and apartment and let their youngest sister room with her.)

And now it's Monday and I've been busily running the quick errands I wanted to get out of the way before settling in with my homework and suddenly it's 3:30. I'm not sure where my day went other than into cleaning up the kitchen and getting a pre-employment drug test (gosh I wish I could just get certified as a non-drug-using person and not have to do this everytime I change jobs) and filling some orders and missing the mailman, for all that I hurried to get the orders put together and probably driving a little too slowly so that I could enjoy breezing down the streets with the top down. Because the weather today? It's gorgeous.

With that, I'll be off to try and get some homework done while setting the back processes of my brain to drumming up a suitable homage to all things Scottish since Friday is Tartan Day and we all know that if it's not Scottish, it's Crap.

Oh - also, blogroll updates are most likely coming sometime this week. There are a few over there that I'm finding I just don't read any longer and as these also happen to be ones who don't link back, I think I'm going to give them the old heave ho. If you're here and reading it's unlikely that any changes will effect you.
