I think, given the decibels currently emitting from the gaping maw of my child, that he is getting ready to feast on human flesh.
I have no earthly idea what is wrong. He just ate. He is dry. He is not feverish. He is safe. And I am holding him. All I can think is that he is tired. So tired that, rather than sleep, he has decided instead to work himself up into a purple swivet (complete with sweat!) until he at last falls into unconsciousness. Because that is clearly better than going to sleep when you're tired and running the risk of missing out on the oh-so-exciting activity that is mommy sitting at her computer and staring despondently at her idea paper, contemplating the immortal words of Socrates.
In other news, did you know you can order knitting needles from Amazon? Seriously, is there anything they don't sell?
Also, what's up with Borders sending me a 30% coupon that expired yesterday (so I rushed over there to use it after church, in combination with part of my birthday present gift card), only to turn around and send me a 40% coupon today. That is just wrong on so many levels.
Saturday I finally got a chance to taste Jen's famous chili - without having to do any cooking myself, at that! - and it is awesome. The whole Speaks clan was over for the evening and we had yummy chili and good fun. And Tim and I realized just how badly we're going to have to baby proof once this guy gets mobile. Cause wow. And Jesse's a good kid. I can only imagine the fun that a not good kid could have over here. And we also had turtle cake. Mmmm. That's definitely on the schedule for dessert tonight as well. (No, not this turtle. This one.)

Poor Baby! (and poor you!)
ReplyDeleteI hope he figures out how to sleep soon.....
I drank what?
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the Johnson and Johnson's bedtime lotion? It has lavender and chamomile in it, and seems to work really well for calming the little ones down at night.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm...turtle. Maybe he was furious about missing out on dessert. lol
ReplyDeleteI looooove the turtle cake recipe. Nummers. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs on your little guy. Mine had gas pains that would turn him purple and screaming. We have to drug him occasionally with simethicone/baby crack. :) But like you said, there are also the non-sleeping moments. You get through it.
Last night was one of those 12:30, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00 a.m. wake-ups. Ugh.
Thanks again for having the Speaks clan over for dinner. We really enjoyed it and Jesse appreciates the extra floor space for toddling.
ReplyDeleteThat turtle cake is killer. Seriously. It's that good.
Oh, and baby Josh? Preciousness wrapped up in cuteness.
I didn't know that you could buy knitting needles at amazon...I wouldn't have guessed it.
ReplyDeleteBorders - crafty bunch, they know our weaknesses hehe.
