Since it's been Season Finale land around here for the past couple weeks - I would like to ask (and this is generically speaking, so it shouldn't be spoiler-y)...what up with all the dead people????
It's like the writers went on strike and, while they were out, they figured the ultimate revenge would be to just start killing off people and otherwise mucking about with the cast (breaking up ensembles, etc.) - what, as a final middle finger to the studios? Cause seriously, if most of these deaths/reassignments/muck abouts stay in effect more than, oh I'll be generous, 3 episodes next season...I'll have a lot more free time on my hands since I will not be watching TV anymore. As of now, there are three shows on thin ice with me, though I'll admit that one death did actually have me doing a little jig of joy right there in my living room, because I have never liked that character and I think the show has a chance to get its act back together without that person.
In other thoughts, The Next Food Network Star is starting up again soon. Yay! But hey - can anyone tell me what happened to Amy Finley (last year's winner)? I watched her show for the...4 episodes(?) they aired and really liked it. Where'd she go?
I'm also looking forward to In Plain Sight on USA - new series with a witness protection theme. And of course season 2 of Burn Notice.
Honestly...summer TV has gotten to be better than the "main" seasons.

You seem to be a great TV critic! I'm so clueless re newish shows. I'm still watching Matlock, Walker, and Murder, She Wrote. Oh, I do watch Hallmark's mystery series: Jane Doe, Mystery Woman, Murder 101, and McBride. AND I watched an episode of Monk a while back. That should make me pretty hip...
ReplyDeleteGirl. You out-TV me! I don't even know what some of those shows are. Heehee!
