That is the Sound of Inevitability*

Tim is out of town on business for the week - something that seems to happen more often than I would choose of late. It's not terrible, but I do miss the break when he comes home and daddy time begins for the kiddo. Still, he'll be back soon and we'll survive.

Last night after I had crawled into bed and turned out the light, the thought flitted through my head, "I should make sure he turned his alarm clock off." This was followed nearly immediately with the thought, "Nah, he's really good about that. He's not left it on yet." Still there was a niggling doubt that I quashed in favor of remaining snuggled up.

At 2:45, the kiddo woke up. I'm fairly certain we're beginning the 2 year molar process - but it always seems to be worse when daddy's out of town. I dragged myself down the hall for snuggles and a retuck and made my way back to bed. I had just fallen back asleep when, at 3:45, he woke again. Repeat trek down the hall and back. At 4:15, he started again, but I could tell he was going to be able to figure this one out on his own, so I waited the four minutes that it took and then tried going back to sleep. I finally fell back out at 4:35.

The alarm kicked on, full blast, at 4:45.
