Because I don't think I have enough thoughts to string together something cohesive and interesting:
- The two big scabs on my head have come off. Sadly this doesn't seem to be in any way related to a sudden growth of new hair anywhere near the enormous incision. And yes, yes, no skin cancer is a good thing, but I really REALLY don't want to have a massive bald spot on the top of my head. For now I can do the middle aged man comb over with my bangs, but really, it's not a long term solution.
- Hubby's big basement renovation project is between half and three-quarters finished. The three walls are down (well two removed, one just shifted backward). So now all that remains is a little drywall work and then painting. And we may have to redo the floors (he says we do because we have two different kinds of laminate. I don't frankly care that there are two different kinds of laminate. So...we'll discuss that at some point.) In the end, while a tad stressful for me (from the standpoint of going 0 to 60 in about eight seconds), I do agree that it was a good move and the space is much more usable for our current life.
- Everyone at church today was complaining about having their kids home so much with all the "snow" days we've had. The common refrain was "They haven't had a full week of school since January!" I just smiled. I mean really, what's the right response? My kids are home with me every day. We've done school nearly every day. And yet, we generally have four day weeks, taking Fridays off because really, who wants to do school on Fridays?
- I love homeschooling.
- I also get that it doesn't work for everyone. I'm not one of those people who says it's the only way. Do what works for your family. That is my refrain.
- But I still smirk at public school families when they complain about having their kids around. Because I can.
- All the puppy's toenails are black. I hate this. I don't understand why God didn't determine that all dog toes should be white/clear so the quick was easy to see. Because I trimmed his nails this afternoon and one got snipped too far and bled and there's nothing that makes you feel like a bigger heel than that.
