Eldest turns 15 here shortly. His birthday party has morphed from "a party" to "an extravaganza" -- on the level that we've taken to calling it his quincenero.
On the actual day of, his plan is to have a handful of other homeschooled friends over to hang out and play with newly acquired gel blasters in the woods. Then, that weekend, there will be laser tag, a sleepover of (at current count 9 (!) teenage boys), followed by Nerf extravaganza all day on the Saturday.
I'm exhausted just thinking about it, but he's in heaven. So there's that.
Youngest is, of course, wondering what his role in all of this will be. I'm currently coordinating with a friend of his to have a sleepover of his own over there. Everyone wins, that way, as youngest won't be trying to horn in on eldest's fun.
Hopefully I can get it worked out.
I've told the eldest that he shouldn't expect this level of extravaganza every year.
He then reminded me that he'll be fine with a car next year.
