Will it surprise anyone to know that all the passports have now arrived? I mean, I'll be honest, I'm a little surprised. I did smirk a tad that mine and the boys came a good week before hubby's. But hey, we all have them now so let the vacationing commence.
Or something.
Of course, the latest news on that front is that it'll probably be "early in 2024."
Uh huh.
Anyway, today was "promotion Sunday" at church, wherein all the kids move up to their new grade classrooms. Makes sense as school starts tomorrow in the county.
With great trepidation and after a mostly sleepless night last night, we sent youngest off to the 6th grade class (now a happy part of youth and out from under the children's minister who at this moment is considered an unsafe person for my family as far as I'm concerned.) I hung out around the fringes just to see that he'd do well and...he did.
Honestly, I am encouraged. Still also nervous. But maybe - please please please - we'll be able to get it to work this year.
We start here at the Sleepy School for Misbehaved Boys tomorrow as well. Eldest is a sophomore and is looking forward (ish) to his online school. Youngest, as said previously, is in 6th grade. My goal over the next three years of middle school is to get him to a place where he can do high school online like his brother. Probably not dual enrolled, but the rigor of the online diploma would be a real win for him.
We shall see.
We had one absolutely love day of temperatures last week and it left me ready for more. Bring on fall, stat! But of course, we're back in the upper 90s today and all this coming week. So bleh. Still, it was nice to remember that it can avoid grossness when it wants to around here.
