Not So Amazing This Season

So...we've been watching The Amazing Race and it's just not so amazing this go-round. I think, honestly, it's because there isn't a couple on there who I really want to win. There are the slightly annoying couples, the pretty annoying couples, and the seriously annoying couples. I would honestly like all five couples left to tie for last.

(Warning: Here be spoilers...if you're worried about having your boredom spoiled)

The final five include Terrence and Sarah. What to say about them...oh, I know...Terrence is a whiny little crybaby and Sarah would be better off just lugging a wet towel around with her on the race. At least the wet towel wouldn't need constant reassurance that it was a big, manly man that she was proud of, even as he snivels and reams her out for *gasp* talking to people other than him.

Then there is Dan and Andrew. They embody everything that is wrong with stereotypical college aged boys in America. Think Homer Simpson doing the "I'm too sexy" dance and you're getting close to the difference between their perception and reality.

Next up, Toni and Dallas. I guess I could kind of get behind them winning because, other than Dallas having questionable taste (he's in like with Starr) there's nothing overtly offensive about them.

Then we have Nick and Starr, who happily admit that their strategy is to tell as many white lies as possible without getting caught. Now, this is a reasonable strategy...it is a contest after all and they're not there to make friends but it's like they go out of their way to find opportunities to lie. Plus, they remind me of the Wonder Twins, so I keep expecting them to touch rings and turn into a bucket of water.

Finally there's Ken and Tina. Tina is one of those bossy, annoying women who pushes everyone, but especially Ken, around. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great they're trying to salvage their marriage, but somehow I think counseling would've been more productive than a high-stress adventure.

Phil is really the highlight of the whole thing this season.
