Blog Tour: Treasured

In Treasured, Leigh McLeroy uses bits and pieces of Bible stories and interweaves them with stories from her own life to try and drive home the point that God is present and active in our lives just as He was in the lives of those whose stories are told in the Bible.

The message is there, but I felt like it got lost in the choppiness of going from personal story to retelling of the Bible story to theological ruminating with very little segue or tie in (and the personal stories never seem to get finished - it's a tidbit here that's dropped and not picked up later, leaving you wondering...what happened next? Even if the point was finished, I would have liked for her to finish the story, too). I struggled to get through it.

That said, I see this as a good gift book for someone that you don't know particularly well, but who you know is a believer. I suspect that I'm in the minority of women who wouldn't find it something to gush about.
