Here at the new house, we are anxiously awaiting the return of the leaves to all of our acres of trees. I am heartened that it doesn't appear that many of them are maples (because while I love the look of Maples, their pollen does me in in ways that are hard to enumerate. The 10 (!) of them on the .2 acres at our old house made a certain swath of spring every year an absolute misery for me.)
We're starting to see buds everywhere we look.
The bugs are also out in force. I could do without those.
We're contemplating an above ground pool as a temporary measure until we're ready (i.e. financially solvent enough) to invest in a more permanent one. I think, given that we're already staring the almost 90 degree temps in the face, that it's going to be a good investment.
Dad said he saw a baby garter snake on his front walkway yesterday. I am in utter denial that it's snake baby season again. Bleh. Terrifying. Hopefully the fact that we have a dog and two raucously loud children will make said slithery nightmares choose other lands for their homes.
